{"id":869,"date":"2021-09-09T12:05:00","date_gmt":"2021-09-09T12:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.overcharts.com\/en\/helpcenter\/?post_type=docs&#038;p=869"},"modified":"2025-01-15T13:11:05","modified_gmt":"2025-01-15T13:11:05","password":"","slug":"advanced-columns-dom-bid-ask-size","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/www.overcharts.com\/en\/helpcenter\/docs\/advanced-columns-dom-bid-ask-size\/","title":{"rendered":"Advanced Columns &#8211; DOM &#8211; Bid\/Ask Size"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DOM<\/strong> Advanced-Columns are the classic DOM columns:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em><strong>Price<\/strong><\/em>: price scale<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em><strong>Bid size<\/strong><\/em>: quantity in the Bid levels<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em><strong>Ask size<\/strong><\/em>: quantity in the Ask levels<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em><strong>Combined Bid\/Ask size<\/strong><\/em>: Bid quantity and Ask quantity together in a single column<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Using DOM columns on chart, you will have a DOM synchronized with the window main chart on the same window as the chart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To add DOM columns to your chart, please refer to this article: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.overcharts.com\/en\/helpcenter\/docs\/advanced-columns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Advanced Columns<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"background-color:#cce9f5\">Add separately the three columns <em>Price<\/em> + <em>Bid Size<\/em> + <em>Ask Size<\/em> (or <em>Price<\/em> + <em>Combined Bid\/Ask size<\/em>) and position them correctly on chart<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Main Properties<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Max Number of Bid\/Ask levels to display<\/strong>: Specifies maximum number of bid\/ask levels to display. Set this property to limit the number of DOM levels processed and displayed on chart. Some data feeds provide a very large number of DOM levels (1000 or more). To process and display such a large number of levels you need a PC with good computing power. If your PC is underperforming, we recommend you limit the number of levels. The exact number depends on the performance of your PC. Experiment to determine the number of levels best suited to your PC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Bid\/Ask levels to Consider on Total<\/strong>: Total levels size is displayed on column footer. You can choose whether to consider in the calculation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>All levels<\/strong>: All levels provided by data feed are considered regardless of the number of levels to be displayed defined in &#8216;<em>Max Number of Bid\/Ask levels to display<\/em>&#8216; property<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>All levels to display<\/strong>: ONLY levels defined in &#8216;<em>Max Number of Bid\/Ask levels to display<\/em>&#8216; property are considered<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Best x levels<\/strong>: only levels defined in &#8216;Number of levels&#8217; property (visible if this option is selected) are considered<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ticks per Row<\/strong>: Specifies the height (in ticks) of each price level. A tick is the minimum price movement (tick-size) defined in the instrument configuration. Usually, correct value for this property is 1. Other times it may be useful to set a higher value.
