The exchange is a FUNDAMENTAL<\/strong> attribute of the instrument. Defining it incorrectly or defining properties such as session or time-zone incorrectly results in the incorrect display of charts, DOM and anything else concerning the instrument.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Overcharts, an exchange groups together a set of properties common to all instruments belonging to the exchange.
All instruments of a given exchange inherit the properties defined in the exchange configuration, unless otherwise specified in the instrument configuration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Access exchange list<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

You can access exchange list in one of the following ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.<\/strong> From Overcharts main window<\/em> > Instrument<\/strong><\/em>s <\/strong>Tab > Exchanges <\/strong><\/em>button<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.<\/strong> From Overcharts main window<\/em> > Instruments<\/em><\/strong> menu > Exchanges<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Create or Modify an exchange<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

To create\/modify an exchange:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.<\/strong> Access exchange list<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.<\/strong> Select the exchange to edit and press Edit<\/strong> button, or press New<\/strong> button to create a new exchange<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.<\/strong> Set or change the following properties:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Name<\/strong>: exchange unique name<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Symbol (abbreviation)<\/strong><\/strong>: unique code of a few characters to identify the exchange in Overcharts<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currency<\/strong>: exchange currency. This property is only enabled creating the exchange and cannot be changed later<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Time-Zone<\/strong>: exchange time-zone<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exchange time zone MUST<\/strong> be the time-zone where the exchange is based. For example, CME<\/strong> time zone is U.S. Central Time (Chicago<\/em><\/strong> time-zone). Nasdaq<\/strong> or NYSE<\/strong> time-zone is Eastern Standard Time (New York<\/strong><\/em> time-zone) etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Session<\/strong>: weekly trading session (trading hours) defines the days and hours when the exchange is open<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Session<\/strong> is a FUNDAMENTAL<\/strong> attribute of an exchange\/instrument. It affects data loading and charts displaying. If defined incorrectly, DOM, Charts etc. will NOT be displayed correctly<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holidays list<\/strong>: contains all exchange’s holidays. It affects data loading and charts displaying of each instrument belonging to the exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tick-Size<\/strong>: minimum price movement. Each instrument has its own tick-size. A default used by the instrument creation procedure is specified here, in case a specific tick-size is not defined for the instrument being created<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Point Value<\/strong>: cash value of 1 point. Each instrument has its own Point Value. It is used for futures (for shares or other type of instrument the value is always 1). A default used by the instrument creation procedure is specified here, in case a specific point-value is not defined for the instrument being created<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overcharts already contains some preconfigured exchanges. Preconfigured-exchanges properties can be modified by the user, but if you modify them, any future property updates will NOT be applied.<\/em>
You can restore the default configuration of a preconfigured exchange at any time by selecting the exchange from exchange list and pressing the Restore Standard<\/strong> button.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
