{"id":3296,"date":"2024-11-15T09:25:27","date_gmt":"2024-11-15T09:25:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.overcharts.com\/en\/helpcenter\/?post_type=docs&#038;p=3296"},"modified":"2025-04-04T07:52:21","modified_gmt":"2025-04-04T07:52:21","password":"","slug":"charts-additional-features","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/www.overcharts.com\/en\/helpcenter\/docs\/charts-additional-features\/","title":{"rendered":"Charts &#8211; Additional Features"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to Lock Objects on the Chart<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To prevent accidental changes to objects (drawing tools, indicators, etc.) on the chart, you can lock them using this feature:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>in the Workspace window, select <strong><em>Format<\/em><\/strong> menu &gt; <strong><em>Move\/Edit Objects using CTRL<\/em><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When <strong><em>Move\/Edit Objects using CTRL<\/em><\/strong> is checked, chart objects can only be moved or edited by holding down the CTRL key while making changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To unlock objects, uncheck <em><strong>Move\/Edit Objects using CTRL<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cross and synchronization across multiple charts<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Overcharts, you can display the Cross (a horizontal and vertical line) at the mouse pointer&#8217;s position on one or more charts simultaneously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the Workspace window:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>select <strong><em>View<\/em><\/strong> &gt; <strong><em>Cross<\/em><\/strong> &gt; and choose one of the following options:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Single Inner Window<\/strong>: displays the cross only in the inner window where the mouse pointer is located.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Multiple Inner Windows (Column)<\/strong>: displays the cross in the inner window where the mouse pointer is located and extends the vertical line to other inner windows in the same column.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Time &amp; Price (Column)<\/strong>: displays the cross in the inner window where the mouse pointer is located and in all inner windows within the same column.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Time &amp; Price (Instrument)<\/strong>: displays the cross in the inner window where the mouse pointer is located and in all inner windows within the same chart window.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Time &amp; Price (Chart-Group)<\/strong>: displays the cross in the inner window where the mouse pointer is located and in all inner windows within the same chart group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Note: Instead of the menu, you can use the corresponding button in the &#8216;Chart&#8217; Toolbar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Suspend\/Resume Real-Time in Chart<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With each chart, you can suspend and later resume the real-time data update. This allows you to closely examine a specific state without live updates changing what you&#8217;re reviewing.
