Customize the instrument symbol by selecting the <strong>Customize Symbol<\/strong> check-box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you do not know the exact symbol (and\/or exchange code) used by new data-feed to identify the instrument, <strong><em>please use the dictionary to look up the symbol (RECOMMENDED)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"716\" height=\"129\" src=\"https:\/\/www.overcharts.com\/en\/helpcenter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/instrument-conf-2-datafeeds-rt4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-230\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.overcharts.com\/en\/helpcenter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/instrument-conf-2-datafeeds-rt4.png 716w, https:\/\/www.overcharts.com\/en\/helpcenter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/instrument-conf-2-datafeeds-rt4-640x115.png 640w, https:\/\/www.overcharts.com\/en\/helpcenter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/instrument-conf-2-datafeeds-rt4-400x72.png 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 716px) 100vw, 716px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#cce9f5\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>FUTURES ONLY<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If <strong>rollover<\/strong> management is enabled in a <strong>futures<\/strong> instrument, the <strong>Futures Symbol Format<\/strong> must also be set. Be careful to select it correctly otherwise the symbol will be <em>wrong<\/em> and you will not receive any data. <br>Instrument symbol MUST always coincide with the symbol used by data-feed to identify the instrument. If you have any doubts about the symbol, refer to the official application of your data-feed and\/or ask their support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Be careful to select the correct<em> futures symbol format<\/em> depending on instrument and the number of digits used to represent the year (usually 1 or 2 digits). If in the <em>futures-symbol-format<\/em> list you do not find the correct <em>futures-symbol-format<\/em> (<em>very rare<\/em> case), then create a new one from <strong>Overcharts main window<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Instruments<\/strong> Tab &gt; <strong>Futures Symbol Format<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, only symbol <strong>root<\/strong> must be defined in symbol field, that is the fixed part common to all contracts of the instrument (eg in ESM21 the root is ES).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"716\" height=\"129\" src=\"https:\/\/www.overcharts.com\/en\/helpcenter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/instrument-conf-2-datafeeds-rt3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-229\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.overcharts.com\/en\/helpcenter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/instrument-conf-2-datafeeds-rt3.png 716w, https:\/\/www.overcharts.com\/en\/helpcenter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/instrument-conf-2-datafeeds-rt3-640x115.png 640w, https:\/\/www.overcharts.com\/en\/helpcenter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/instrument-conf-2-datafeeds-rt3-400x72.png 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 716px) 100vw, 716px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>5.<\/strong> Go to <strong>Historical Data &amp; Time Frames<\/strong> Tab and check if the same data-feed + symbol has been automatically set as data-feed for historical data.
